Job Title: Varsity Girls Soccer Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director / Principal Location: Bland County High School, Bland County Public Schools
Job Summary:
The Varsity Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for leading, organizing, and supervising all aspects of the high school girls soccer program. This includes developing student-athletes’ skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, ensuring player safety, and fostering a positive, competitive environment that supports both athletic and academic success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, games, and team activities.

Teach fundamental and advanced soccer skills, strategies, and conditioning.

Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among athletes.

Ensure adherence to VHSL, district, and school athletic policies and procedures.

Maintain responsibility for equipment, uniforms, and field preparation.

Oversee athlete eligibility, attendance, and academic performance.

Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.

Supervise assistant coaches and collaborate with the athletic department.

Promote a positive image of the soccer program within the school and community.

Ensure safety and proper conduct of all team members during practices, games, and travel.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Previous coaching or playing experience in soccer preferred.

VHSL coaching education requirements.
-
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
