Position Title: Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
Location: Bland County Public Schools
Reports To: Athletic Director / School Principal
Position Type: Seasonal / Supplemental

Position Summary

Bland County Public Schools is seeking a motivated, dedicated, and student-centered individual to serve as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the girls basketball program while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct practices and games
• Develop student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship
• Ensure supervision and safety of student-athletes at all times
• Maintain compliance with VHSL rules and school division policies
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, equipment, and transportation
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration
• Promote academic achievement and positive behavior among student-athletes
• Oversee inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and uniforms

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Must complete all required school division and VHSL coaching requirements

Terms of Employment

• Stipend position 
• Season runs in accordance with VHSL guidelines
